Dilşen Oktay Ertem, a graduate of Celal Bayar University, Department of Food Engineering, has been in the family business since 1998 continuing the family tradition.  

 

She completed his master's degree at MAICh (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania - Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute) on the Greek island of Crete between the years 2002-2004.  

 

In 2004-2005, she took part as a researcher in the project called MEDFROL (Market and Trade Policies for Mediterranean Agriculture: The case of fruit/vegetable and olive oil), in which Ege University is among the partners within the extent of the 6th Framework Program of the EU.  

 

Between 2004 and 2010, she focused on her doctoral studies on the subject of "Possible Contributions of Supply Chain Management in Increasing Olive Oil Consumption in the Aegean Region" at Ege University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics, and completed her doctorate in 2010. 

 

In 2008, she worked as a quality control officer at Olitalia Company in Bologna Forli, Italy, for 3 months within the extent of Erasmus Life Long Learning Program. Later, she continued her research on olive oil at the Department of Food Sciences at the University of Bologna and attended tasting courses and tasting workshops.  

 

Since 2009, she has participated in the tasting panels of the Zeytindostu Association, which started in Aydın Commodity Exchange, and she is still working as a panelist.  

 

She was a moderator and assistant in the organizing committees of Zeytindostu Association Quality Contests and led the panel. She takes an active role as a translator and as an instructor in tasting courses.  

 

In 2012, she attended the 2nd Level Tasting Course at the headquarters of the Mediterranean Olive Oil Tasters Association in Rome and took part in various tasting events with Paola Fioravanti. She was also the jury member in the L'Orciolo d'oro competition held in Pesaro.  

 

Between December 2014 and May 2016, she held the position of the presidency of Zeytindostu Association Tasting Panel.  

 

Between 2015-2017, she lectured at Izmir University of Economics, Applied Sciences Vocational School of Culinary Arts and Management.  

 

In April 2017, she was invited as the jury of the Olive Japan International Olive Oil Quality Competition on behalf of Turkey with 23 expert tasters invited from all over the world.  

 

In addition to being a member of many non-governmental organizations such as Karşıyaka Soroptimist Club, Tevfik Fikret High School Alumni Association, Antandros Association, she is holding the Secretary General position for the Zeytindostu Association as well as being the Treasurer of the Boutique Olive Olive Oil Producers Association and being the Member of the Board of the Burhaniye Olive Producers Association, the Gulf Olive Producers Federation. She is also a member of the Supervisory Board.
